I recently had the opportunity to photograph a farm photo session in Central Indiana, and it was such a fun and meaningful experience. Tracey reached out to schedule a session on her family’s horse property, looking to capture a mix of updated family photos along with special images of Tracey and her daughter Lyla with their horses. Sessions like this are some of my favorites because they reflect real life, real connections, and the places that matter most to my clients.
Their farm was the perfect setting for a relaxed and natural photo session. The property was surrounded by mature trees that created beautiful, soft shadows, and we were treated to a stunning sunset that added warm tones to the images. At one point, we even had a light sprinkle of rain while the sun was still out—classic Indiana weather—but it passed quickly and made the moment even more memorable.
This session truly captured the loving, playful bond between Tracey and Lyla. Photographing a mother and daughter alongside their horses allowed their personalities and connection to shine through in every image. I loved collaborating with them on this shoot, especially because they came prepared with their own creative ideas for poses and backgrounds. When clients feel comfortable sharing their vision, it always leads to a more fun session and more meaningful photos.
