When Bri first reached out to me about scheduling their couples session, she had one request that immediately stood out—she wanted water in the background of their photos. I loved that she had a clear vision for her session, and I was excited to help bring it to life. The only challenge was finding the perfect location.
Thankfully, Bri suggested Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, and it couldn't have been a better choice. While this particular spot required a little bit of walking to reach, it was absolutely worth every step. The peaceful waterfront views created the perfect backdrop and gave us exactly the look she was hoping for.
One of the best parts of the evening was the weather. The sky stayed overcast throughout the session, giving us beautiful, soft, diffused light. Cloudy days are often a photographer's best friend because they create even lighting and flattering skin tones. Combined with the couple's neutral outfits and the natural scenery, everything came together beautifully.
Of course, the real star of the session was their dog! I always love when couples include their pets in their photo sessions because they add so much personality and make the experience even more meaningful. Watching the three of them interact naturally made for some of my favorite images from the evening.
One of the things I enjoy most as a photographer is collaborating with my clients. When someone comes to me with ideas and a vision for their session, we get to work together to create something unique that reflects who they are. It's one of my favorite parts of the creative process, and I think it always shines through in the final gallery.
This Eagle Creek Park couples session is a perfect example of how choosing a meaningful location, embracing the weather, and including the things you love most can create timeless photographs you'll treasure for years to come.
