Sun King Brewery

In Spring 2022 I was in a class that was run like a design center. In this particular class, the students were tasked with working with outside clients and meeting their creative needs. For one of the big projects, we were tasked with coming up with creative designs for Sun King Brewery to choose to put on their limited edition glasses that come out each season.

Sun King Hay Bale Design

For this design, I wanted to reflect a calm and relaxing countryside view. I have grown up in the world of agriculture and there is nothing better than the feeling after a hard day's work. I spend a lot of time in the summer and fall just sitting on the porch and just taking in the view. In the late summer and early fall is usually when the last cutting of hay is done and then everyone is off to harvest the other crops. This is just a time of relaxation before the cold weather and heavier workload comes in. I think this time is a perfect time to sit down and relax with a beer and just appreciate the small things.

Sun King Cactus Design

This Sun King glassware project was when I was a team member for the Design Center at Indiana University Kokomo we were tasked with designing creative concepts for the team members at Sun King to review. For this design, I was inspired by how often cacti can look like mean plants but actually they can save your life if you are stranded in the desert. In particular, the prickly pear cactus can provide people a nutritious snack on their journey if you cook it correctly. With this concept in mind, I wanted the beer to be something that you can enjoy along our own journey.
